My son used to work at Jerry's as a Busboy and Dishwasher. Mice in the drop ceiling, no food handling gloves worn by cooks, when the dish detergent would run out they would continue 'washing' dishes. Disgusting. I strongly suggest no one eats at this establishment.
Great food, great service, great atmosphere! You just don't find family owned business like this anymore. The ribs are unlike any I've had before, and whatever is in that sauce makes them lip smackin' good!!
The best ribs!. We tried Jerry's and was unbelievably pleased! It a Saturday night, so we made reservations just in case. We were immediately greeted by the most comfortable atmosphere! It reminded me of the restaurants and beer houses I visited in Germany last year. The beer selection is impressive and is a great starter. There was warm baked bread waiting for us at our table, and our server greeted us promptly. You can tell they work as a team, from the servers to the busers. The timing was perfect, from our apps to dinner. We never felt rushed or unwelcome. In fact, after dinner we walked over to their Little Beer House and our experience went from excellent to amazing! It's like stepping right into an actual German pub! There was outdoor seating and we also found out they serve food there as well! We left comfortably full and sleepy! It was a great dining experience and the food was delicious!
a tradition.
We recently recieved an invitation to get $12 off dinner for our anniversary. We had used a free birthday meal two years ago.
I could not resist reviewing and stating we will not use the discouint offer. Our experiance was OK at best. I must preface by stating I am not from this area. The service was bad, I mean bad. the staff was proud that were proud that they had worked there a long time. If you knew them you were given extra attention at the expense of other patrons. The homemade bread they are proud of was tasteless and the sald was wilted and brown on the edges, salad dressing tasted like it came out of a bottle. The ribs were covered with a sweet BBQ sauce. I prefer a dry rub or a thin coat of spicy not sweet sauce, I was not askled or explained the "Olde Town" sauce was how it would be served. The prices were not cheap! For the price I will not return even with the discount they sent me. Again I am not from this area, I am used to more traditional, simple, yet gourmet prepared meals.. If you go spend time in the bar and get drunk first, everyone has a great time in there and if you are drunk the food seems much better
Best ribs. I was sent a birthday coupon in mail. I usually dont use coupons at restaurants but brought my family and was pleseantly surprised! Everything we ordered was fantastic! Service was great, food unbelievalble, and had a wonderful time for my birthday with my family.
This place went DOWNHILL. The appetizer platter was supposed to have stuffed mushrooms in it, however it had tiny breaded button mushrooms. The bread we were served was burnt, and had NO FLAVOR whatsoever. It tasted like flour! My "premium" french fries tasted like they were reheated in the microwave. Another diner ordered a steak and it was all fat and again had to flavor. The garlic mashed potatoes were cold. Dont waste your money on this place you will leave hungry!
JUST OK. FOOD WAS OK. I WOULD OF BEEN DISAPPOINTED IF I DID'T USE A COUPON.
Went for the famous ribs. As other's have stated the French onion soup is very good. Thankfully, we didn't have any problems with service, or the birthday coupon, which others have complained about so I feel lucky in that sense. I was very excited to finally try these ribs. My excitement quickly changed to disappointment after the first bite. They cook these ribs by either boiling them or in a pressure cooker. My guess is pressure cooker. There was no flavor at all. Certainly no flavor of smoke. The meat did fall off the bone, I wont argue that, but there should be some chew to ribs, these had none. I could have gummed these ribs just fine. If you like your rib meat soft and flavorless, then this place is for you. As for myself, I'll stick to ribs that are smoked properly.
Poor Service Continues. Called at 7:30 pm on 5-16-09 (Saturday) for reservations that evening. Informed that earliest seating would be 8:15 pm. Accepted the time and arrived around 8:20 pm, waiting 20 minutes to be seated. Ridiculous!!!! What is the point of a reservation? Especially made 45 minutes before planned arrival? Meal service was painfully slow. Otherwise satisfying meal ruined by the 1 hr 20 minutes taken to complete the process for just the two of us. It took the waitress 10 minutes just to get our bill at the meal's conclusion. Didn't leave the restaurant until 10:10 pm. No wonder my wife and I are receiving "repeat customer" dining certificates from Jerry's at a frequency higher than we generally care to eat out. No doubt a response to a regular customer base that is rapidly dwindling owed to worsening service. We started patronizing Jerry's several years ago, roughly 2 to 3 times per year. Their poor service is a relatively new wrinkle in what was an otherwise reliable dining establishment.
Very poor service. This was my first trip to Jerry's Old Town. It was a disappointment. I don't understand what all the fuss is about. We had reservations and still had to wait 30 minutes to be seated. The dining room was terribly noisy. We waited fifteen minutes for the waitress to greet us. She asked if we'd like anything to drink and we told her we were ready to place our order! We still didn't have any water. The water arrived, and my glass had lipstick on it. When the food finally arrived, my husband asked for a soda. Half way through his meal, he asked the server where his soda was...she forgot about it. The food was good. We had the onion rings, ribs, french onion soup and baked potato. Everything tasted good. The best tasting part of my meal was the bread. Overall, the service sucked!!!!!!!!!! We won't bother going back to Jerry's Old Town.
