A slice of Wisconsin history and some great French food await at this cozy inn..
The Scene
Built in 1885 as a stage coach stop on Wisconsin's historic Watertown Plank Road, the Elm Grove's warm fireplace and charming decor have provided food and comfort to guests for more than a century.
The Food
Gallic flair saturates Milwaukee-born owner and chef Mark Doweiko's menu, with items like Roquefort-braised onion tart, quail and margret of duck, ballotine of chicken, and broiled veal chop with morel mushrooms. The Symphony of Seafood with champagne sauce is also fantastic. Save room for a delicious made-to-order dessert souffle.
