Best Pizza in Town. This is the place for excellent thin crust pizza. We order the pepperoni every time. The sauce is perfectly tangy while the crust is crispy with enough weight to hold the ingredients and the perfect amount of cheese. There is not a better pizza in Milwaukee in our opinion.

The spaghetti and meatballs is also very good, with a fresh house salad and warm Italian bread. Our family of four passes the food around family style.

The service is either fantastic or extremely slow, depending on which server you get. Some of them act overwhelmed if they have more than two tables going at once. This is why we often take the pizza for carry out, although we then give up the immediate hot from the oven pizza experience which is hard to pass up.

I agree with the other reviewer that their bar is a major turn off. To say it is extremely smoky is an understatement, as you walk through it to get to their newer back dining room. The usual bar flies eye everyone as they walk in the place as if this is their place and you are an outsider. We feel Matteo's is worth the trip for the pizza, but could do a lot more to make it an even family friendlier atmosphere. Smoke Free would be the best place to start.

Excellent. Great parking. Quick seating. Pizza is spectacular and the kids/husband like the TV sets in the corners of the dining area. Especially during sports events. The wait staff is very welcoming and very good with kids. We are usually offered coloring books and crayons. Nice atmosphere but the bar/smoking section seems to drift into the non-smoking area. I wish this restaurant would go smoke free.

I beg to differ.... We have been to Matteo's many times and have always had great food and FANTASTIC service. We go with our 2 young sons...3 and under and the servers are great with them. Not a whole lot to choose from food-wise but the pizza is great. Fish fry is good as well. We will continue to go back time and again.

Not worth it. I've Dined here twice. The first time, the food was cold and the service was poor. The second time, the food was cold and the service was poor. The food isn't great (at least nothing I had was!) Fairly expensive for the quality of food you're served.
