The Big Daddy of Milwaukee's professional theater companies, the Rep has its own production, management, rehearsal, and staging areas in what was once Milwaukee's principal power plant.. History:
This historical power plant has been reincarnated as a marvelous theatrical facility that rivals any in the United States. The Rep stages contemporary dramas, nail-biting classics, humorous comedies, and get-up-close cabaret shows in one of several staging areas in this multi-level complex. There is a small restaurant and bar on the top floor where receptions and post-production feedback discussions are regularly held and where performers regularly flock after a show to relax. The handicapped-accessible complex is an integral part of the lofty Milwaukee Center, a marbled expanse of offices, public radio facilities, and financial institutions across the street from the City Hall. The Rep's productions are staged from September to May.
