I went to Jake's Delicatessen today and this was one of the worst corned beef sandwiches EVER! the meat was dry. A dab of mustard and on top of that I waited 27mins for it and it wasn't even crowed! I will not be going back!

The Best! We live in Minnesota and come to Milwaukee about 4 or 5 times a year and Jakes is our first stop! I crave the Corned beef sandwiches!

Bad value. Going back to great resteraunts is like putting on comfortable jeans. Jakes is like putting on concrete slacks! What was is gone what's left is not worth seeing.

not quite what it used to be .....
this was once THE place for luscious corned beef. now, it is a shadow of itself. great corned beef, but the bread was dry, mustard non-existant and sandwiches half the size that they used to be while the prices have doubled. i was saddened by my recent experience because i have been going there since the late '50's.
what made it worse, was that most of my office mates agreed.

no one does it better. Simply put, the best flavor and tasting cornbeef and pastrami I have had out of seven different states. I would make a trip across town to get one sandwich, no lie cause I have done that. Anyone looking to have cornbeef with no comparison needs to go to Jakes. Go early, cause people will line up around the corner for the wait!

Better than the best New York deli.. I'm a Milwaukee native, so of course I grew up loving Jakes. The corned beef is so tender that you can't even pick up a piece without it falling apart in your fingers. It is well worth the $6 you'll fork over for 1 sandwich. I been to a few New York delis, including the famed Carnegie Deli. Their corned beef may as well had been bologna compared to Jakes.

Best Corned Beef. Wow! That is how I describe this place. It has Corned Beef to die for...and you might die when you go to eat here. Why? It is in a very bad part of the city, but it is worth the trip. the food is amazing and I have not had better anywhere. It is a blast from the past, my grandparents used to eat here. You can now get Jakes Corned Beef sandwiches at the Milwaukee Brewer baseball games, only in the expensive seats though.

Great corned beef is the common denominator as workers and downtown execs rub shoulders at this classic inner-city Jewish deli..

The carved wooden booths date back to the 1930s and each day the line forms early in quest of a great corned beef sandwich; over 600 pounds of slow-cooked corned beef is hand-carved here each day. Jake's Reuben is piled six inches tall, and pastrami and tongue can be carved to order. Great chicken matzo-ball soup and cabbage borscht are just as good as grandma used to make.
