We're testing a new design in Milwaukee, WI Metro.
It doesn't have all the bells and whistles yet,
but we want to know what you think.
If you prefer, switch to old Citysearch.
Milwaukee Auto Works. Milwaukee Auto Works is newer - since 2011. I've had several repairs there since then and I am very pleased. Nick is very correct and honest. I recommend this auto repair shop coz the prices are really fair and you get quality service for that. View Less … View More
BEWARE PLEASE BEWARE!!!.
Same situation over and over again. My vechile sat on the lot for 2 months plus, almost every time I call I would have to let the phone
ring for 3-4 minutes only to hear it will be done on Wednsday, when Wednesday came and I finally got an answer on the phone then I hear it will be done on Friday. This went on for 6 weeks. Either the part didn't come in or we found another issue we have to fix. One day after calling the shop 10 plus times without an answer I showed up there to pick up my vechile on the day it was promised to me 8th time. Jim insulated me and yelled at me in front of customers waiting for their vechiles, then called the cops on me, all I was doing was asking questons on what was taking so long and why all the promise dates to deliver. Apparently he did not want to talk in a professional manner, he felt the need to show off in front of the poor customers that he has left. I left in tears never in my life feeling so humilated. Finally when I pick up the vechile it has almost 1,800 miles more on the odometer then when I dropped it off. I have documantion showing what was on the odometer when Jim received it. Not to mention my car was covered in dog hair in the back seat and I don't even own a dog and my interior in the front was filthy. O'yes I would also like to mention the dents received on my vechile "either from someones personel use without permission or from just sitting on his lot" I don't know. Now every time I approach my driver door I get to look at a 6 inch crease that reminds me of the Hell I went through with this shop. Never in 40 years have I had such a bad experience with a business. PLEASE, PLEASE, save your self the stress and trouble and go else where. MOST IMPORTANT JIM'S AUTO CENTER HAS 11 JUDGEMENTS AGAINST THEM. Even if you were to file a claim you will be at the bottom of a very long list.

Unfortunate turn of events.
My husband and I had been taking our car to Jim's for a couple of years and always received adequate service. We were never totally happy,
but what can you do? We chose them for convenience and not having to find another mechanic. A tenuous reason in my book. So, after my last experience it is very easy to walk away with my middle finger standing proud.
I brought the car in with the brake and abs lights on and asked Nick to have a look at the brakes, which they had installed. The next day I get a call that nothing is wrong with the brakes but they did fix the sway bar links and added gear lube to the transmission at a cost of about $300. Um, they never called to ask if these repairs were alright with me and when I drove the car away the brake and abs lights came on.
After some thinking I called and let Nick know this wasn't right and it was agreed that I would come down for a refund. When I got there I was greeted by an inflamed Jim who immediately set in yelling at me. Apparently, Nick told him I was getting my lawyer involved and was planning to sue them. I am not a complicated person and have never threatened to sue people. Besides, I saw this as a matter I would take care of myself. All I expected from this business was decent customer service and consideration.
In reality I HAD decided to negotiate a fair refund reflective of their work and my lack of authorization. However, ALL repairs over $50 have to be authorized by the customer over the phone or in writing before proceeding or you pay nothing. I gladly took all of my money back after Jim's aggressive display of insults. Thank you Jim's Auto for empowering me to be better informed of consumer protection rights. Good bye.

Facebook Discussion on Jim's Auto. Not one positive comment.
Just so happend there was a discussion on car repair and Jim's Auto came up on Facbook. Took the liberty to copy the posts (left their
names out for anonymity reasons). Actually had my car there yesterday and put my two cents in.
Below are the posts for your review.
3/2/11
1 - Don't go to Jim's in ST Francis Very bad reviews & they have kids that work there that are not certified mechanics. My son's friends know people that work there & Jim is an ass. I go & would recommend to you... Cudahy service center on Pennsylvania Just before Grange. Very honest, & the owner is Mark Hurley a uncle to Jenny. Iv'e only had good luck with them & i know he's never ripped me off.
2 - No Amy, Jim at Jim's Auto is not an Ass. They try hard to please everyone - unorganized? Maybe but I wouldn't say he's Ass.
3 - Any where but Jim's auto in SF, tried to save some money there a few years back, should of taken it to the dealer. They really messed up my Jeep, never been the same... TOP Tech on 5th n College is said to be fair and honest, and isn't it a shame that's generally the exception not the rule...
4 - Had my car there yesterday and all I was told by Nick was a bunch of bull to cover up their incompetence. Not worth going in to but it is so obvoius when your being lied it's insulting. Bottom line is I won't be back.
Honesty goes a long way and now look at the reputation their giving this small community. They won't be in business long if they continue doing business as is.

Same story as Djones.
Like many others have written in their reviews, I really don't believe these guys deserve the "One Star Rating" I gave them, but I had to
enter something...
I had almost the exact same experience. My car died at a SuperAmerica on a Friday and I couldn't roll up the windows or lock it --alternator died (I hid the key on the passenger floor). I called at noon ("Not here, yet" I was told) and then at 4:30 ("No. I don't know why we don't have it, but the towing service said it will be here soon".) I drove down to their place at 5:10 in my wife's car and it was locked up and empty. They promised me they would call me and let me know what was gong on...
Knowing the extremely bad security conditions, I went and got it myself. Did the work myself and fixed it.
I was going to go down and harrass them about this, but they are not worth my time. They shouldn't be worth yours, either.
