The Scene
Chef/owner Peter Carini and his brothers used to fish the waters off Sicily and the model boat, pictures and nets on the wall provide plenty of take-you-there atmosphere. Carini's La Conca D'oro (conch of gold) has romantic tables if you're so inclined, or banquet halls if you go for a bigger kind of bash.
The Food
Fresh-off-the-boat seafood is the forte at this Eastside Sicilian restaurant. There is a vegetarian buffet, a selection of pastas, and homemade cannoli.
Dish to Die For
The Pasta La Conca D'ora is the house specialty, made from linguini tossed with an abundance of seafood, lots of garlic and a perfect splash of olive oil.

This is honestly- the BEST Italian food I have ever tasted. The chief is actually from Sicily, and the food is authentic. Rich flavors, and great dessert (the tiramisu is very unique). YUM YUM

At first when we arrived, the staff was very pleasant but as the night went on they became inattentive and rude. The appetizers and food for that matter was very bland and really prepared very poorly. The waitress took over an hour to bring us our food and when we asked why it took so long, we were offered a discount for the inconvience. However, when the check came we were told that the manager didnt feel we deserved a discount because we "didnt wait that long". This was much to our dismay since we sat there for over an hour waiting for our meals with our waitress basically ignoring us. When we finally got our food, it was cold and tasteless. This place is very overrated and I will never return. The rude service and inability to make their customers feel wanted and satisfied is very unfortunate. I wouldnt waste my time going here at all. I would have rather spent $40 and ate at Applebees then this dump. $80 wasnt worth me being treated in such a rude manner. We ended up leaving no tip and our "doggie bags" right there at the table and just left this dispicable place. I would advise anyone to spend their hard earned money at this place that doesnt know anything about customer service or satisfaction or even how to cook a real Sicilian meal for that matter.

I suggest that if this place is to raise the prices of both the food and the wine to a fine dining price, then I suggest removing the red tape that is holding the carpeting together. I would also suggest a lot more consistency in the meals prepared. The pastas and sicilian entrees that I've tried are never prepared the same. Last time we went, my wife's steak was supposed to be medium-well and it came out medium rare. The owners also need to tone down the temper tantrums in front of the customers. We had our children with us, and I refuse to return here, especially with them, after the Chef came out and berated his employees in front of his customers. The ambiance was ruined, and I've seen this happen on a few occassions. Besides, I wouldn't recommend eating their inconsistant food for their out of control prices.
