DO NOT rent with Shovers! They are theives and do not care about their tenants. My roommate and I had several problems we tried to address with the landlord but couldn't even get a phone call back from them. The parking reserved for us was not labeled properly so basically anyone could park there...and they did. Police could not ticket or tow the cars because the spots were not properly labeled. Shovers NEVER retured any of our calls regarding this matter (I left about 5 messages!) However, one month I was a few days late on rent and they called immediately demanding a $50 late fee. We had a few other minor issues as well, and once again, they never answered or returned our calls.. what if there was an emergency?? At the end of the day these things weren't even the big issue, we could move on from it... it was when we recieved the secuirty deposit bill!! They wanted to charge us a total of $1800!! This included new carpeting, a detailing of the house ($16/hr for 8 hours of cleaning), new blinds (they charged $30 per window for those cheap plastic blinds!)..and the list goes on. It was obsurd. They were charging US to renovate their apt basically! It was just me and my female roommate living at the apartment and we never had people over and kept the place clean. They were taking advantage of us because were were students. Stay clear of them.

I live in a townhouse managed by Shovers Realty over 4 years now with my wife 2 children. Reasonable rent and great service. A couple of days ago I ran into a old neighbor that used to live in the building. They always had parties and parked up the whole parking lot. A few of us complained and bingo, it seemed like in a couple of weeks and Shovers Realty got rid of them. The old neighbor was bragging to me how he stiffed Shovers out of 2 months rent and busted up the place . Then he got a little angry as he told me Shovers has a judgment against him for all the damage. Then he told me he went on some of these sights and made up a bunch of lies about Shovers Realty.

My girlfriend and I have lived on North Cambrige overlooking the river for 3 yeas now. Shovers Realty service has been great, always there when needed. Reasonable rent and nice neighbors. We are very satisfied here. I just wanted people to know.

I live on 83rd and Morgan with my 7 year old daughter for going on 3 years now. Great service and reasonable rent for a large 2 bedroom. Very nice neighbors because Shovers Realty really screens them. Once someone downstairs started causing disturbances and sort of went mental , they got rid of them in a month! They must be the angry people writing bad stuff because they got kicked out of a great building at a super low rent!

My roommates and I lived downtown near MSOE. Huge spacious apartment at a reasonable rent and great service. We took care of the place and got all the security deposit back. I moved to a 1 bedroom that Shovers Realty manages.

Renewed my lease for another year in Shorewood. Huge 2 bedroom 1 and ½ baths very reasonable rent for Shorewood and great service from Shovers Realty. Great neighbors. The cheap rent lets us save for a house! Very satisfied!

I live in a building Shovers Realty manages in Thiensville Wisconsin. In the 2 years I have been here the rent has been very far and when ever I needed anything the service department was right there. Nice neighbors’ to, very happy here.

3 wonderful years and reasonable rent. I got a new job out of state and had to move. They always responded to service requests promptly and refunded my deposit in full. I will never be able to replace my spacious apartment for the same cost.

Stay Away. What everyone is saying here is true. Shovers does not take care of their buildings and they blame all the problems on the tenants. The owner gets mad when you request work orders and attempts to intimidate his renters acting like he knows what is going on. Truth is that he knows nothing and their maintenance staff is as incompetent as "Tim the Tool man Taylor". It takes months to get things fixed and even when things are fixed they are fixed incorrectly. My advice is to stay away and if you live there file a complaint not just with the BBB but call up your building authority and have the place inspected (it's free) and they will back you up if you have problems with Shovers as they fail to take care of their buildings. Additionally, the inspectors will force the problems to be fixed and hand out appropriate fines.

Horrible.... Please, please, please avoid renting from this terrible and unprofessional company! They are rude, cheap and very unprofessional. They do not take care of their properties, inside or out. I had a screen door that needed to be fixed because it was hit by a tree branch during a storm. I called and called and called and finally two months later they came out to look at it. They never replaced it. When I called I was told that I would have to pay for it! Needless to say I filed a complaint with the BBB. Don't rent from them!
