Fabulous Customer Care. I recently moved to the area and Actae was recommended to my by a friend. I had an appointment for a facial and 30 minute massage. From the time I walked in the door I felt comfortable and relaxed. The style is modern yet victorian and the ambience was peaceful. It was quiet the day I was there, I'm not sure if this is how it is all the time, but it was soooo relaxing, to say the least. All of it was also very private with the multiple rooms spread out. Everyone was very professional and caring. Suzanne did my facial, which was awesome. She then went above and beyond and offered me a complimentary wash and style if someone was available. Paul was available and his technique was very gentle, and even through in a nice neck massage, another relaxing experience. Taylor gave me my 30 minute massage and when the 30 minutes was over, I regretted not scheduling a 60 minute one. They kept my water glass filled to detoxify and all the services were fabulous! I will definitely be back!

love love Actaea Works. I have been going there for years! I can't tell you how wonderful my experience is each and every time I go there! They are so kind and full of knowledge! I highly recommend you to go here for all your salon and spa needs!

Very poor service. I wouldn't be able to speak to their actual salon services, because the receptionist at Actaea Works could not find our appointments. Regardless of the fact that I could tell her the exact day I made them, she made no attempt to fit us in or yield an apology.



I work in the service industry myself, and I understand the failures of technology and human error at times. However, I was upset and disappointed that the receptionist did nothing about the mix up. With all the other high quality establishments in Shorewood and the North Shore, I will not be returning to Actaea Works.

Dont care if they confiscate my mancard, I love this spa. My girlfriend got me a gift card for Actaea and I love her even more for it. I'd never had a pedicure before but gave it a shot. Guys you dont know what your missing. They used this grapefruit scrub, put hot towels on my feet, and gave me a massage. It was awesome. The girl Janelle is the best. She made me feel really comfortable and explained what she was doing cuz I had no clue. My girlfriend and I now go in together. Thanks Janelle!

Consistently a pleasurable and relaxing experience.... From the attentive support staff... to the exceptional services I consistently receive... Actaea is by FAR the best day spa/salon I have ever been to. The owner of Actaea style is refreshing and impressive... Jason is truly a LEADER in this industry. Treat yourself...

Awesome Customer Care...You cannot find a better place. I just want to clear up any misconceptions someone may have after reading the first 2 reviews. I have been to Actaea Works 4 times within the last 2 months and I have truly enjoyed myself at each visit. Even though times are tough with the economy right now, I go to Actaea to do something for myself. It is a time to get away and relax. I have been to the Shorewood and Bayview location and each have different features that I enjoy. I like getting my hair done at Shorewood and really enjoy the relaxing environment at the Bayview location. The staff is always willing to help and very friendly. They even take your coat and offer you a beverage right as you enter! I have been to several salons and spas and I cannot name one that offers the type of service Actaea offers. I would suggest it to anyone and everyone...and I have!

best salon and spa ever!. If I could give Actaea Works Ltd a sixth star I certainly would! The staff is professional and goes out of their way to make you feel welcome and comfortable. The staff and managers were very respectful to each other and to the guests. What an amazing experience, I look forward to my next visit and "investing" in myself!

Ok, But Nothing Great. I've come here for a variety of services and the only one that was superb was for bikini waxes at the Shorewood location, but that technician doesn't work there anymore and the ones I've had since her were not so great. (Yes, I said superb bikini waxes!) The facial I had was disappointing and I left looking greasy, not hydrated and that's just the least of that service...the make-up application was hideous. My hair service was satisfactory, but nothing to rave about. I've gone to both Shorewood and Bayview and there is only street parking. I also find it annoying at checkout when the girls/guys tell you "your investment today is..." Just tell me the price, not some stupid play on words!

worst business i've ever dealt with. Don't go to this business. Not only are the staff poorly trained and unable to provide adequate services (i.e. give poor haircuts and manicures), but the spa is run by a manager who clearly does not care about any of his employees. Overheard him berating an employee while I was there (for what appeared to be nothing)....I wonder why the workers aren't motivated. Awful experience.
