Fixed my Cadillac SRX. I thought the service was great and WAY less money than I pay to have my car fixed at the dealership. I thought the price was really fair and with more that one mechanic there they got it fixed fast.

I highly recommend!!

Extortion Practice. Was charged %25 more than agreed upon price and was threatened that they would keep my vehicle unless I paid the new higher price. This is a nasty extortion practice and the head mechanic Joe and secretary are extremely unpleasant and rude.

With the initial phone call I was quoted at $150 for what I wanted repaired to get me in the shop. After inspection Joe attempted to gouge me for $1700 to replace the whole front end of my vehicle. He even attempted to charge for some parts that he didn't realize that I actually had recently replaced.

When I stood firm at having repaired only what I wanted repaired the price went from $150 to $200. And when I picked up my vehicle the price went to nearly $250.

I have since contacted the police, the FTC and the BBB. Do NOT take your vehicle to this mechanic.

AWESOME PLACE. Went to Joe's after the dealer wanted $1200 for a new computer, Joe's fixed it for $400 and my car runs better than ever, now my whole family goes there and all my friends. Joe's is my mechanic now.

Rip off. Went into this place asking if I could get a free estimate on a broken exhaust pipe. Was told that was no problem. They called me back the next day with an estimate nearly $500, saying the whole exhaust system had to be fixed (catalytic converter, pipe, muffler, gaskets, everything). I said thanks but no thanks, and I was told that the estimate costs 35 bucks, but that if I got the job done there they would waive it.

Then went to John the Muffler Man on Wells St, where they had my car on the lift within half an hour. They took a look at it, said they could weld a new piece of pipe where the break was. 25 minutes later they had fixed my exhaust pipe for $50 bucks.

I'll never come back to this place again. A friend of mine had a bad experience at Joes as well. It seems like most of his business is towing away junk cars, while fixing cars is number two. For a little more than the price of the estimate at Joes, I was able to get my car fixed at John the Muffler man.
