One of my favorite restaurants in Milwaukee.
They have a great selection of delicious south and north Indian vegetarian food at some of the best prices in town. Where else in this
city can you get a samosa for just 75 cents? Some of my favorite dishes are the Halva Poori (especially when I'm extra hungry), Or the masala dosa, or the Aloo Chhole with a samosa on the side. And you can't pass up on drinking a mango lassi or a chai tea.
Try the sweets. But in small doses, because if you're not used to Indian sweets, they are veeeeeery sweet.
They've also improved their ambiance in the last few months, so they look less like a laundromat, and more like the Indian deli / restaurant that they really are. I do, however, miss the bulletin board they used to have, with all the local postings of events, Indian movies and help wanted ads and the like. I realize it doesn't fit the new decor, but I always appreciate any business that supports the local community with a place to post announcements like that.

best authentic Indian food in Milwaukee.
if you want delicious authentic North Indian (Punjabi) food, you should definitely eat at Bombay Sweets. though the decor and ambiance
aren't like that of a five star restaurant, the food is not loaded with unnecessary grease (thal) like other Indian restaurants.....and the sweets are unbelievably good.
