I have done bussiness with them several times and its always a pleasure. I just had a woodstove installed and its perfect.
Dont ever use this company--HORRIBLE SERVICE!. First off, I have my bachelors in nursing and Im an RN, so clearly I am able to tolerate people to a certain level, but this company is unacceptable. My experience purchasing the fireplace was mediocre. There was apparently miscomunication because with me installing the gas line, because they claimed they told my plumber the gas line needed to be fed up through floor...actually as it turns out I was standing there, and that was never stated by them, I inturn had to wait 1.5 months for my fireplace to be installed. Second and most important, dont go with this company (American Fireplace in Waukesha is fantastic) because they have the WORST and rudest customer service I've ever encontered. After 9 months my vavle stopped working, it took 2 weeks for them to come out, but then after they "fixed" the valve my fireplace now only puts off 1/2 the flame it did previously and 1/2 the heat! They came back, but said it was fine. Finally, then I noticed a flame was impeding on the actually gas line! They said not to use my fireplace until my log (logs falling apart) comes in, then if flame was still there (I guarantee you it will be) they will come back in another 2-3 weeks...bascially I'll be out of my fireplace, in winter time, for over a month! Througout all of my ordeals with this company the people arranging all this has been completely rude, talking down to me like I didn't know what was going on. NEVER GO HERE because the service it pitiful, rude, and takes several weeks!!!
Grumpy Installer. ******The one guy who came to install the gas line was grumpy when asked why he was just opening the gas line without shutting off the gas. Gee, I guess it's preferable to NOT have gas in the house. The rest of the workers were fine, but this guy should be let go. He gives the company a bad image. Sour grapes! If the homeowner is paying the bill then the worker should respond with some respect when confronted about leaking gas into the house!!!
