Stayed at Forty Winks Inn after attending the Wisconsin State Fair. We were not sure what to expect this place surpassed all our expectations. The room was immaculate. The front desk was very nice and helpful. Good size room, very clean and the price was very reasonable. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone.
Forty Winks Inn was perfect for our week stay while visiting family in Milwaukee. It was clean, very nice and quiet, inexpensive and quite comfortable. I'd recommend it to friends and would stay there again. It backs to a residential area in a nice neighborhood and is cushioned from noise on the front by a glass walled in hall along the entire length. Very nice!
The rooms are large. They have a small refrigerator and microwave. The breakfast is simple, fresh fruit, coffee and a breakfast bar. It was quiet and conveniently located. I am staying there in the future.
Wife and I went to the Brewers game and Wis State Fair, and we found this hotel on the internet, that was close to everywhere we wanted to go. We are glad we did. A good location with basic, clean, reasonable priced rooms. Owners were very helpful and friendly.
very nice stay at 40 winks, large, clean room with beamed ceiling, microwave and fridge, nice area and cheap rates. I would stay there again
Great rate for a Saturday. Just off the highway with lots to do in the area. Room was clean and fairly large. Bed was a little squeky and room could have used some touching up but over all it was good for a place to rest for the night.
Nice, Clean Hotel - Bargain Price for the Area – I have to disagree with the previous poster - I have been staying at this hotel once a year for the past several years and have always found it to be perfectly clean. The owner/operators are almost always there and are very kind and helpful, so I was sad to see them given such a bad review. They really don't deserve it. I have always enjoyed my stay in this friendly, nicce hotel. And it's a great bargain for the area, as well.
Stay there - you won't regret it! :O)
Do Not Stay here! – My stay at this motel was the worst I've ever had, and I have been all over the world. I was attending a law enforcement conference at the nearby Hampton, but they were all booked. I took a chance on the 40 "Stinks". I checked in around 4:00PM and left immediately to have dinner with friends in Butler. I returned about 6:30PM and stayed until around 9:00PM. I left again to see a band at the Hampton and returned to the 40 Winks around 11:45PM, after stopping at Taco Bell. My fiance and I ate our food at the 40 Winks and got ready for bed. As we undid the covers, there were body hairs(pubes) all over the sheets. We went to tell the desk clerk, but they were gone for the night. We called the Wauwatosa police and told them we had no where to sleep because the bed was full of hair. The police contacted the owner and both arrived at the same time. The owner was very polite until the officer left and then started accusing us of all sorts of things. He said the room was "trashed" and we wrecked one of his washcloths. It should be noted, we had our Taco Bell wrappers in the trash. My fiance had wiped her eye shadow on a washcloth before she went to bed. The ownwer is a nut! See yahoo motel ratings, this one and 2005. The owner told us to leave immediately and said he would call the nearby motels and tell them not to give us a room. I waited until I got my card refunded before I reported this motel to the Wauwatosa H. D.
