VERY DISSAPOINTED!. I have never written a review of anything on the web but I plan on letting everyone know about the shortcomings of this hotel. The reviews I read for this hotel impressed me, so did their website. Well it is by far not the luxurious place it touts itself as. It is a quirky hotel with a GREAT VALET in a terribly constructed building. The walls are not only thin, they move! The bed of the room next to ours shared the same wall with our bed. We were awoken at 3am by a very amorous and physical couple next door. Our bed actually shook with every.....well you get the idea. They might as well have been in bed with us! You could actually feel the drywall move simply by pressing on the wall. Just horrible construction! The wall was actually cracked where it met the ceiling! We could also hear every person that walked by outside our room. The front desk only told us that the couple in the room next door was checking out that next morning when my wife told them of last night's experience. They also said they would have maintenance check the walls. Well unless they rebuild the hotel this will never improve. Only because the food and beverage manager overheard my wife did we get 2 entrees comped at the Metro Cafe. Whatever! The only reason we stayed another night is because my wife thought moving would be more of a hassle, but I really didn't want to give them any more of my business. I could have spent the same amount per night at the Pfister or the Intercontinental (which I plan on staying at next time I'm in Milwaukee) and gotten a much better room. The room layout is terrible. There is no separate bath and sink; it is in plain sight of the bed. This was a "spa suite" mind you. I don't need a fireplace, I need another sink. The only good thing about this hotel was one of the Valets, whom remembered my name every time we saw him, and seemed genuinely pleased to serve us. I will never be back and cannot recommend this hotel in the slightest.

Not what we expected. Nice decor, however the walls need improvement. The walls are so thin we could hear the couple next door agrue and talk about the time they were in jail! The managment did throw them out at 4am. When you are laying in bed and you can actually hear the people next door have a coversation-its time to remodel and make the walls thicker.

A glorious art-deco design, luxurious suites and a popular, swanky bar attract the more discriminating tourist and business traveler.. In Short
This pet-friendly boutique hotel is located within walking distance of downtown museums, theaters, art galleries, restaurants and clubs. Contemporary designed spacious suites come equipped with state-of-the-art amenities including free high speed Internet, voice mail, Aveda bath products and CD players. High-quality mattresses, fine linens and down comforters make for a cozy night's sleep. Bike rentals are available for riding along the lake.

Lovin' the Metro. Our stay at the Hotel Metro was fabulous! The front desk staff treated us like we were the most important guests at the hotel. We had a wonderful dinner at the Hotel Metro Bar & Cafe. The restaurant staff was friendly and helpful and the food was superb. Our room was clean and spacious and the bed was truly the most comfortable bed I've slept on. I'm looking forward to the next time we stay there.
