Great mexican restaurant. This is authentic mexican and very good food. The menu includes your typical mexican selection, but prepared fresh and not like "taco bell." The menu also has some unusual and delicious other mexican selections, and I recommend trying the fish tacos, and some of the other house specialties. Tequila lovers will appreciate the selection of tequila and margaritas. The ambience is somewhat basic, although the place is casual and located in the trendy Brady Street area. You'll dine with families, college students, professionals, young and old... as the menu has something for everyone.

Best Restaurant in Town!!. We visit Cempazuchi at least 3 times a month - we have since moved from the eastside to the west and still visit it as much! The flavors and atmosphere are exotic and thrilling - the food is very authentic and healthy. Favorites are the sopa Azteca, chile rellenos, and fish tacos. To start, we usually get either Ceviche de Mar or Tlacoyo Zapotec. The margaritas here use fresh limes and you can choose from a vast selection of tequilas or mezcals. I recommend this restaurant to anyone who is a fan of Mexican food - your senses will be taken on a journey!

Colorful folk art, music and rich moles tantalize the senses at this Mexican eatery known for regional specialties.. The Scene
Mexican folk art adds to the splash of colors that cover the multicolored walls, while the front windows draw in Brady Street's local color. Handmade margaritas and sangria flow from the tiled bar with a wonderful mix of salsa, mariachi and other Mexican music, adding to the lively atmosphere.

The Food
Pass on the typical Mexican fare and opt for regional specialties that concentrate on the foods of Oaxaca, Veracruz and Mexico City. Start with queso fresco fondue, a molten dish of slightly salty cheese served with fresh tortillas and a wonderful spicy pumpkinseed-based salsa. Machamantel, an exceptionally fragrant fruit mole, coats a perfectly sauteed chicken breast. Friday evenings cater to seafood lovers with a long list of rotating specials, featuring items like oysters in tequila and whole snapper.

Looking for Authentic Mexican?. If you are looking for the tacos and burritos from Taco Bell, Chi Chis, or Pepes, you will not find them here. This is REAL, authentic, freshly prepared, thoughtful Mexican cuisine. No salsa packets, no re-warmed, refried beans, no frozen margaritas - instead sopa Azteca, rich moles, and a Torta Cubana which ranks among the best sandwiches in the Midwest. Add to that a fabulous selection of mezcals and tequilas, and hand-mixed, fresh-limejuice-squeezed margaritas and you have one of the best-kept secrets in Milwaukee.

awest1982 stick with Taco Bell. Cempazuchi is one of the best native Mexican style restaurants I've ever eaten at. Don't expect immediately-accessible meals, think more Mexican Rural Peasant style foods and you've got it! Their selections of moles and salsas are top-notch and they offer a wide variety of tequillas and tequilla drinks. Try the Coca-Cola, it's IMPORTED from MEXICO in the old bottles! More modest items are available at decent pricing.

BLAND!!!!. What kind of Mexican restaurant doesn't have a spicy salsa???? And where in Mexico can you find green tortillas??? And what kind of Mexican Restaurant has servers who can correctly pronounce the entrees???

Point made.

Unique!. Unique food, atmosphere, music and art work. A "something out of the ordinary" mexican restaurant. Not your typical burritos and tacos!
