Service was superb! Easter buffet had
an excellent custom-prepared omelettes. The only disappointment was the dry, hard french toast sticks and the fact that no chocolate dessert was offered. It was worth the $35/person. Beautiful seating in the naturally lit area and the wait staff was top notch.

Great martinis.
Though most weekends its crowded and hard to find seating, I love Hotel Metro. Great drinks, great location and great atmosphere. Its a staple.

find a table and stay a while.
the whole place has a view of the passers-by, quick service at the bar. a little crowded as the 'event of the evening' wedding or reunion finishes up. great place to wind down the night.

Get lively with the locals at this charming and friendly downtown hotel restaurant-bar..
In Short
Part eclectic bistro, part swanky lounge, the Hotel Metro Bar is a fun place tucked away in the 1930s art deco-inspired Hotel Metro. It's located on the ground floor of the hotel, and has large windows that frame an enjoyable view of bustling Milwaukee Street. Contemporary furnishings and warm, sand-colored walls give the cozy atmosphere a touch of savoir faire. A diverse drink menu features tasty martinis and a nice selection of imported beers.

You can eat dinner on the couch!.
This place has a beautiful setup, nice lighting. We went once for desserts and they were amazing, so we came back later that month excited to try dinner. It was AWFUL! No flavor to anything, and watery. We spent between 16 and 22 dollars a plate on this food that wouldn't have measured up to "lean cuisine" frozen dinner standards. We told the waitress that the food was terrible, and she just kind of said "I'm sorry to hear that." How about getting us some that wasn't!?
Great desserts, terrible food. High Prices, lousy parking situation.
