My experience with TWC has been great.
Wow...my experience with TWC couldn't be more opposite. We got cable when we moved into our home 5years ago and switched from satellite
service. We had been ok with satellite although every time there was bad weather we lost service. However, since we were moving into a condo there were a lot of restrictions for getting satellite service so we started cable for the first time. Honestly, we've never had a bad experience...take that back, I did speak with a rep once who gave me incorrect information and that was very frustrating. But, I've been treated respectfully on the phone and by service techs. I can count on 1 hand how many times my service has been interrupted in the 5 years that we've had cable. They've gone out of their way to accommodate our needs. I feel like I'm dealing with a completely different company than that described by the reviews I've read here. I'm polite...they're polite, we're pretty happy with our service, beyond a few bugs with an upgrade which, again they have fixed immediately and politely. Having dealt with AT&T for years with phone and Internet service, very unhappily, I know I'll never go the U-Verse route, and we have much better service with TWC than we had with our satellite service. They are always here the next day if there's an issue and they get it taken care of. I've spoken with one rude rep in 5 years and I spoke to a supervisor who bent over backwards to apologize and make the problems right - the initial problem a called about, which was minor, and the problem with the rude rep.
Really, I couldn't be happier...I wonder why there's such a disparagement between myself and all of those who have posted here. Weird. Anyway, TWC works for me.

Time Warner Is A Complete Waste of Money.
What an unbelievable shifty company this is. *First off don't go to digital if you haven't yet, and I'll tell you why shortly.*
Okay so we switched to digital, and of course it costs more because you can't have it in more than one room without paying for it; which, I'm very glad about because it sucks and we have regular cable still in the other rooms. My complaint to them has been that when you're recording two programs you cannot watch a third... you have to watch one of the two you're recording. Umm.. that doesn't make any sense whatsoever. Why would I record something that I'm watching already... for most general purposes this makes no sense at all. I called Time Warner the other day... the rep checked our account and said.... nope you should be able to record two and watch a third, but still it isn't working that way. I called this evening and immediately was told that no I cannot record two and watch a third... I have to watch one of the two I'm recording. I go over and over why this makes no sense... that a twelve year old genius can do better than that, but they keep saying it makes sense to them. Finally after going on in circles they say yes it is possible, but you have to pay more for it. Okay... so we already pay for sub par crappy programming and now we should have to also pay to record! WTF!
When you bring up the sub par crappy programming... they always revert to, "Time Warner does not choose the programming," oh really? My response is, and was, TW can certainly employ their sales people to negotiate better programming, but obviously TW doesn't care to, so yes... TW is responsible for the programming they charge for. Not only that but they are 100% responsible for what they do charge, and it should be a hell of a lot less for what customers are not getting.
** Digital sucks. Everything is delayed while you wait. The few extra channels you do get LOL... are only shows that regular cable channels already have but they circulate them to the few channels that are new to you.
We're looking into another provider.

Can't get any worse? Sure it can..
Please, go read a year and a half's (and counting) history of Milwaukee Time-Warner / Roadrunner buffoonery at my website: (alexfalkenberg
dot com) and decide for yourself if that's any worse. I just don't get how they can get away with it like they do, for so long, to so many, on so many levels.
I'd understand if it was one isolated incident... but it went on for a year and a half, and there has still been no resolution, to this day.

I had enough and finally switched. I've lived in Milwaukee for about two years now, after having lived in various cities in Arizona, Florida and Maine. I must say that I have never had such poor service (cable OR customer) as I have had with Time Warner in Milwaukee. I have previously had accounts with several major cable and satellite companies, depending on the city I was living in, and all have been far superior to TW. I can't even go into all of the areas in which they offend - my cable often did not work at all and service was both nearly impossible to get and then rude once you did. In an apparent attempt to simply inconvenience the customer, every request for service was denied until I unplugged the cable box and brought it to their service center 45 minutes away. Then I would have to hold it while I waited in line for about an hour, finally to be told that they would call me whenever they had looked at it (usually about two weeks). Then I would be told to pick it up and they would say "see if that improved it" (which it never did). I would wait another two weeks for a technician. I think that their network is just somehow screwed up in Milwaukee, as everyone I have talked to about this had the same problem and eventually switch to satellite. I finally did as well (I'm a slow learner) and am much happier now... View Less … View More
