A must for kids!.
My best friend brought me to Creative Fire for the first time in November of last year, and I am a true convert. My 7 yo son adores the place, and they are wonderful with him. Kids are allowed to make their own creations, and the only real correctionis when somthing in their design won't fire well. My son hasn't participated in a formal class with them yet, but that will probably be his birthday gift this year. The owners are so supportive, and have great tips on when and how to use tools, what glazes are appropriate, and what will and won't work out in the kiln.
I have never heard them be rude or unkind to anyone. One family that is in regularly has three extremely small children, and Suzy and Becca are both wonderfully patient with them. I would reccomend this place to everyone interested in pottery!
Fantastic Gifts!. Creative Fire has the most wonderful selection of gifts! Pottery that's both functional and innovative such as the leave chip & dip set I bought as a house warming gift. The colors are amazing too! I love my beautiful cobalt blue bowl. I was also able to arrange a birthday party for one of my friends that was far more entertaining than the traditional dinner. Boy, you should have seen us on the whee!! A great time was had by all!
I love Creative Fire!.
Suzy is AWESOME! She created the most wonderful gifts for us last year. Our parents were thrilled, and use or display their pieces constantly.
Last fall, my husband went to Suzy with his favorite coffee mug to have a replica made for me as an anniversary gift. Now he is jealous that mine is of better quality than his!
This May, I went to Suzy again to find a wedding gift for a friend. When Suzy found out I would need to ship it out of state, she found a box and fillers so I wouldn't have to pay the UPS store to package it. Talk about going above and beyond for your customer!
Go find your Creative Side!.
My girlfriends and I have visited the shop 3 times in the past 2 years. Each time we have such a great experience-it's really made it a fun girls night out!
We've received excellent customer service from both Suzy and Wendy and great direction on how to "better" our creations. Practice makes perfect...so we WILL be visiting Creative Fire Again!
My friends are already asking when the next date is!
Thanks ladies for making this a really cool thing for us "old ladys" to do!
Go to Creative Fire! Now!. I've been a faithful shopper of Creative Fire for the past two or three years. I currently own well over 15 pieces of their pottery. The quality is fantastic! I had commissioned Suzy (a co-owner) to make me french onion soup crocks. They are awesome. Truly beautiful pieces. Everytime I go in there, Wendy & Suzy are so friendly, and very knowledgeable. I've painted a few pieces of my own, and am never steered wrong by their expertise. Seriously, I have not had a better experience than in their store.
User review by gremlin123. I was wonderfully surprised when I first walked into CFP. I ran in one afternoon to pick up a last minute holiday gift and left with gifts for 7 (and one for myself). Suzy took the time to explain the process that went into each piece I looked at and showed extreme patience when I could not make up my mind (too many wonderful choices). The prices were incredible. I have seen similar items at double the price. It's a definite must.
Creative Treasure!.
My family and I were visiting friends in Wauwatosa this week and I found Creative Fire courtesy of your website. When I entered the shop not only were the two women running the store extremely nice, they definitely knew their craft. The ceramics I saw were of excellent quality, and I was also very impressed with the way they were able to knowledgeably discuss different painting techniques, and answer all of my questions about the hours their kiln runs along with the drying times and information I needed about when to pick up my finished product.
Something else I really liked is, you can also pick from several pieces that are already painted, they have several gorgeous pieces! My favorite thing was something unique to their shop, they call a it frog house!
Had a BLAST !!.
Susie and Wendy - the owners - were very helpful to us, asking us questions on what we wanted to use our creations for and how - and then suggested different items we could make. There were so many things to choose from, and we didn't know if we wanted to just paint something or make something of our own. We decided to go with a frog house and a bird feeder and I would never had thought of making those OR that it could be made!
They were helpful the entire time, leaving us to make our mess and then suggested up different ways to paint them, decorate them. I can't wait to go back and pick them up AND make more. I am planning a Moms Only day with my friends and they offer up private group parties so that should be alot of fun!
Definitely Go!
Skip this place!!. Ive painted pottery many times and have never had such a horrible experience. Their selection is so small, so unless you want to make a cup, bowl or leaf plate, youre out of luck. When I picked up my pots they were terrible. One was cracked, the paint was distorted and there were hairline cracks in the glaze. When I called to talk to the owner, I was put on the phone with her friend; both were rude and blamed the problem on me. Saying that I shouldve told them to do a different glaze on my pots. Sorry Im not an expert potter and didnt know there were two glaze options!! They were unwilling to address my situation. when i asked for a refund, i was told that they wouldnt issue me anything. I never received an apology for my dissatisfaction in the pots. I WOULDNT RECOMMEND going here.
