Revamped Bradford Beach a Downtown Gem!. I've lived in Milwaukee for 5 years now, and have avoided this beach for the most part....until now! The nealy re-opened concession stand is a great spot for refreshment while running or cycling on Milwaukee's lakefront. They also sell snacks and some decent beer (New Glarus Spotted Cow was on tap last time I went). The upper-level deck is a great spot to take in the action on the beach; umbrellas and picnic tables offer some refuge from the sun. The County is FINALLY keeping the sand clean, with regular beach cleaning and sand drags. Lifeguards are a welcomed addition (not that I'd swim in the water...that is still an issue). The volleyball nets and fun summer events really make a lively scene on Milwaukee's lakefront. When they finish the watergarden and playground, this place is gonna rock!
