Always a pleasure with James. I have been going to see James for a year now, and I couldn't be happier with the time we've spent together! I have been to many different stylists and salons, but I honestly have to say that James is my favorite and most experienced by far. He always is interested in my day to day activities and cuts/colors my hair to match my personality and lifestyle. He understands what I like and what I don't like, resulting in a perfect outcome everytime. He really is an all around great stylist, from the conversation, to the customer service, to the cut, and to the color. I always recieve so many compliments when I leave James, and because of this I have spread the word to many of my girlfriends, who now are clients. You will never be disappointed.

Curly hair stylist guru. James provided an awesome cut for my naturally wild and curly hair. If you have curly or wavy hair that needs a manageable, professional looking hair cut call James today. Many hair dressers have sent me away crying with a horrible do. James' hair cutting technique and attention to my style preference resulted in a cut I love. Of course we also played with the color. The deep color he recommended earns compliments regularly.

Best Cut I've Ever Had. I went to James on a friend's recommendation and I now feel like I have a stylist in MKE for life. James was able to get me an appointment at a time that worked for me and really soon after I called. He was really considering me and my personality/lifestyle when he cut my hair and chose my color. While he cut and colored he was really friendly and the conversation was great. The cut is honestly the best cut I have ever received and the color is spot on to what I wanted. I feel it is stylish and sophisticated but also so versatile. James took the time after the cut and color to show me about 7 ways I could style my hair. He really took the time to make everything look the best it could and to make sure I was satisfied. I will definitely be going back and I suggest you all do too!

Will Only Go to James!!!!. I cannot say enough good things about James and the haircuts that I get at St. James Place. They are stylish but not overly trendy. They are easy to manage and so well cut that they look good even when you have waited a little too long to make your next appointment. James is hilarious, the conversation is easy, and every appointment is fun. James also has this uncanny knack for knowing exactly what haircut I want even when I am incredibly inarticulate in describing it. Magically, my hair ends up looking exactly as I had pictured it in my head. I suggest treating yourself to a great haircut at St. James Place!!!

St James Place. I got my haircut at St. James Place about a month ago and I love it. My friends and family all thought the cut made me look a lot more stylish and mature. I was nervous that my hair only looked so good because he styled it but I have been easily able to style it too. I have very thick hair and he was able to thin it out and give it shape. I will be going back to St. James Place.

WOW!!!. I seen Jame's name on Citysearch and gave him a try. I am so glad I did. I let him do whatever he thought would look nice. He dyed my hair to a bittersweet chocolate (which sorta scared me) and I loved it! My husband and even my son loved it. He gave me a great cut and the color makes me look younger. What more could a woman ask for? Besides the great cut and color we had the best time chatting and laughing. When I came out of the salon I felt so good. Laughter and a good style, what more can a girl ask for? Thank you so much James. The parking ticket I had on my car when I got in it didn't even ruin my day!

By far, the BEST cut, color, service in Southeastern Wisconsin. I've been to NUMEROUS salons, Brookfield, Milwaukee, Downtown, Wauwatosa, Cedarburg, and I'm finally done searching. James is the Best. Not only does he use the very best product, Davines, ( which is nearly impossible to find here) but he listens to you and your personality BEFORE he starts cutting. A hair cut of your own, not the Jennifer Anniston or Victoria Beckham. He knows that your hair is a reflection of his work, and wouldn't dream of letting you walk out of that salon unhappy. It's not the glitz and glamour of an over priced salon that you break the bank wondering what just happened. Here you get exactly what you pay for and feel so good when you leave. Well trained stylist - great cut. Great cut. Fun conversation. Cozy, homey, atmosphere.

I had a great time and am really happy with the cut - nice easy style - took a few days to be sure I liked it., as with any new cut, but now am convinced and am more than thrilled.

Best haircut I've ever had. Generally, when I visit a hairstylist, I don't ask for anything too unique...in my experience, there was always something lacking in the way that they cut my hair; the bangs were too short, the layers were flat and unnoticeable, the color was two shades darker than I had asked etc....However, three years with the same haircut makes you do crazy things, and I needed a change. I clipped out a picture from a magazine, and brought it in, half-expecting some catastrophe like all my prior experiences. I had NOTHING to worry about. Not only was the haircut EXACTLY what I wanted, completely devoid of mistake or error, but James actually fixed errors that the previous hairstylists had left behind, like re-cutting layers that left my hair looking flat and lifeless. He did something that I was not used to; he cut my hair while it was still dry, and although i couldn't understand why at the time, it made perfect sense when he was finished: my hair hung JUST the way that he had cut it, not how it would have if he had cut it wet. James is incredibly talented and professional, and has been recognized by magazines and institutions as one of the best hairstylists that the Midwest has to offer. The atmosphere was exotic and interesting; unique and beautiful art hung from the walls, and gorgeous caged birds were everywhere in the room. James uses amazing natural products (over 45% organic ingredients), and showed me easy ways to style my new 'do. I highly recommend St. James Place, and from now on, I refuse to go to any other hairstylist.

Love the "dry" cut on my wavy hair!. James, the salon owner, is a master at cutting my wavy hair. He doesn't wash/wet it before he cuts...he just brushes it out, and cuts it when it is dry, so that he can see the way my hair bends when it is dry. Frankly, people SEE your hair when it is dry, so it makes sense to cut it when it is dry. That way, James can tell how it is going to look as he is cutting it. I'm kind of "cheap" when it comes to spending money on beauty, but I'm willing to pay the extra price to have James cut my hair. He also does my color very well too. Over the many years of my coming to see him, he's become a good friend, as well, and we always have interesting conversations. As one of the other reviewers said, the salon is a bit "quirky" and has a lot of personality, but it can be a bit cluttered at times. But, it is all overlooked because I know that I always walk out with a great haircut, and to me, that is the most important thing.
