Overpriced Boiled Meat. The Melting P ot has nice atmosphere, but nothing worthy of the price. We had a reservation yet seating took 20 minutes on a Monday night. The cheese fondue was lumpy and bitter. The sides you used to dip in the cheese were mundane (although the bread is good). The main course (in this case shrimp, steak, salmon, chicken, scallops) were far overpriced for what you got, especially considering they weren't cooked. Plenty of okay sauces were presented because, in essence, you are basically eating boiled meat with no real flavor (despite the extra money we paid for seasoned water). The dessert, however, was excellent. So, in the end, go to the Melting P ot for the dessert and eat the main course elsewhere... you will be happy you did. If you miss the Melting P ot "experience," take the meat you order and dip it in your water glass...  View Less View More

It's hip to dip at this cozy fondue-lover's paradise.. In Short
Booths equipped with tabletop fondue pots are clustered together inside the intimate dining room. Start with a cheese fondue, including an assortment of breads, veggies and fruits for dipping. Entrees include lobster, center-cut filet, fish, chicken and vegetarian selections served with a variety of dipping sauces. For dessert, try the flaming turtle, a mix of chocolate and caramel flambéed tableside, served with nut-covered marshmallows, fresh fruit, pound cake, brownies and cheesecake.  View Less View More

An experience, try it once and then just come back for the dessert!. My wife and I joined a couple here for a friday night out. The experience is what I think makes The Melting (followed by a word they won't let me use) a place to visit and eat. However, the meal was just okay. All of the meat seemed to taste similiar and once cooked I couldn't taste much of a difference between the filet or the other beef. It seems redundant to cook a 1 ounce piece of meat and a sliver of a potato for two minutes, eat it, and then wait another two minutes for your next nipple of meat to cook and eat. The dipping sauces were all fantastic which helped to dress up the average tasting meat options. The dessert, chocolate fondue, was fabolous. I reconmend stopping here for the experience and the chocolate fondue dessert. Try the meal once but make sure you have ALOT of time. Don't try to sqeeze The Melting in before you're sceduled to see a show or concert. It took us close to 3 hours to complete our fondue night out. A bit pricey, however I think you're paying for the overall experience. Overall we had a good time and conversation. Just make sure you enjoy the company you're with because it is not a in an out restaurant!  View Less View More

OVER PRICED SMOKE AND MIRRORS FOOD!!. If you would like your hard earned money disappear before your eyes you could either go to eat there or burn it. The next time I think it might be more fun to take $100 in singles and make them into paper airplanes, light them on fire one at a time, and throw them across the room and watch them burn.

The fruit was obviously freezer burned. The actual meat part of the meal I could have put into the palm of my hand and it was for a party of four.

They best part of the meal was we all got a great laugh at what was going to go wrong next. The stones that are on the owner of this restaurant must be huge to be able to serve what might have been $5 worth of food and charge nearly $100.

Never, Never again. My wife and I still get a kick out of driving past and sarcasticly reccomend eating there .  View Less
