We went to Bigg's last year for a get
together, and thought it was a great experience, the staff, food, prices, etc., there were no complaints.
So, when I knew that we were going to have a get together with friends for my husband's 41st birthday, I wanted a place that was able to accommodate approximately 15 people, with a menu variety that would ensure everyone was happy. Centrally located, we decided on Bigg's.
We were greeted promptly, and the table was set for our group. Very few tables around us were occupied, which seemed odd for a Saturday night, especially at 6:30.
My sister had a coupon, which we assumed could be used, since we all had individual checks (which they offered to do). Upon further review, our waitress advised that management stated that if they were to use the coupon, anyone that ordered a special (prime rib) or a drink special, they would have to pay full price, the coupon doesn't support the discounts. After we requested to speak with a manager, the Assistant Manager came back and said 'As a 1 time exception....we will honor this, but it's not our normal practice'.... Humm, red flag, not your normal 'practice' to accept a coupon'?
Dinners were ordered, table talk started and the waitress/waiter started to bring out our main food. No salads were served, no soups were given. When questioned, they advised that the kitchen screwed up, and they didn't want the hot food to get cold, so the soup and salads would come out after the meals were delivered. Most of us indicated that we didn't want the salad/soup, and they offered to 'adjust' our bill by $2/pp (for those of us that refused delivery).
It just seemed to be problem after problem, stemming from the delivery of food, to the delivery of the fried ice cream that was delivered, when my husband left the table. By the time we got the bills, 1 credit card wasn't returned, my sister's bill was incorrect (charging full price for the drink specials), salad/soup discounts were not reflected, so we were giving them back to the waitstaff.
As they were still trying to get my sister's bill situation figured out, I just thought I would talk to the manager in regards to our experience. That's when I met the infamous Louie Pagis...
Louie is the General Manager of Bigg's. I recapped that we were here a year ago, great time, great food, great service etc., and tonight, not so much. I explained the mishap with the soup/salad, told him it was unacceptable that it was brought out after our food, told him the problems with the coupon, told him based on the above, I doubt that we would return. His reply? Wait for it, this is the manager, mind you:
Had I know that you never intended to come back, I would never have honored the 'fu**ing" coupon. You are trailer trash, and I want you and your 'fu**ing" party to leave right now. Stunned, I repeated, "I am trailer trash?". He shook his head, told me to get the 'fu**' out of my establishment. Promptly, I quickly turned to return to my table, I didn't want to make a scene, I whispered to my sister that we had been told to 'leave the fu**ing premises', I was rather embarrassed when my 73 year old dad over heard this, and then my HUSBAND heard it.
When my husband asked to speak to Louie, he hid in the back room. He sent his 17 yr old busers out to say that he 'left' the building. When asked who was above Louie, they said he was the owner. His name is on the building. But, even though 'Louie' fled the scene, he called the Wauwatosa P.D. and asked that we leave the property.
We left, but this will not be the last time that Bigg's will be talked about. Social Media is a wonderful thing.
The only thing that my husband and me wanted, was an apology. If the owner doesn't blink an eye by name calling, then I shouldn't blink an eye by providing my eye opening experience.
my 2nd time eating here. we asked for a sample of fish to try. cuz the last time it was too greasy. the kitchen Mgr said no. our waiter gave us a hassle when we asked for a 2nd helping of all u can eat fish. and then the waiter did not want to accept my groupon. so we asked to c the mgr. the mgr did not come out but the waiter came out and told us the groupon will be accepted this one time only. reading the other reviews, it sounds like this MGR does not give good customer service.
This is my first time ever writing a
review online. I have to say that the management was BEYOND horrible.
We had a coupon that we were told at the beginning of our meal we could use. At the end, the manager, "Louie" decided we could not. We asked to speak with him and had to wait half an hour, as he "was not on the property."
After waiting, he confronted us rudely as we explained the situation and he said it's his discretion, and he would not honor it (even though the coupon clearly stated we could!). He got really agitated and ended the conversation with "I hope you never come back here!" and stormed off. (I swear to you, I am not making this up). So, we had to pay more than double what we had planned. I'm writing this because I want to ensure customer service like this is not tolerated and he is put out of business.
The food was, meh, ok and the server was fine. But I can assure you that Louie's wish will definitely be fulfilled.
Best Burgers/ Bar specials. I just watched the vikings get hammered by the packers tonight here it was awesome! They had the best drink specials like 2.50 rails, bottles, drafts and Free Touchdown shots, and FREE FOOD at half -time, like seriously how can u beat it? But my fav all night was the burger, best burger everr
Its pretty darn good to me. This place is great, I've been there at least once a week for the past year, you really cannot beat the price and quality anywhere on mayfair road. The steaks are never frozen and the burgers are simply the BEST! Also try there homemade rotisserie chicken noodle soup, it always cures my colds ;)
CRAP CRAP CRAP.
i will NEVER eat at this piece of crap restaurant again
the food was fair but the service and management is a complete joke
we had coupons that were presented to the waitress when we ordered that were not were not used and we were told couldnt be used until AFTER we ate even though they were valid coupons
we were charged for things we didnt order and then were made to feel like some how that was our fault
the manager was a complete condescending ass to all of us - hes truly lucky he didnt get punched
saturday night - 9pm - completely empty restaurant except for our table ---not a shock
Great Fish fry and drink specials.
Me and my friend stopped by at Biggs Roadhouse on a Friday night.
We both expected the place to have just burgers, steaks and beer but WOW that place has a variety of choices starting from frozen drinks, mexican entrees, salads, pasta and dessert. Our waitress Marisa took the time to go over the menu with us and answer our questions. We both got the Fish fry - which is their all-u-can eat special with potato pancakes. It was like a home cooked meal, better than we had expected. Also we ordered a Long Island Ice tea which was on special and was just $4 and a frozen Margarita, same price.
Reasonable prices, friendly staff, good food. I would rate it 9 out of ten.
Angus Prime Rib.
Just had a 12oz Angus Prime rib tonight it was awesome,
only like $15 with a sweet potato loaded, and my wife had a nice juicy burger, and there meats are always fresh never frozen. Also drink specials were like Martinis $5 tonight....really great value for the family!
Bad Food and Even Worse Manager. My family and went to the establishment on a weekend. I ordered the catfish po boy and one of my kids ordered the NY strip steak. The catfish tasted like it had been sitting unfrozen in a cooler for about two weeks. The strip steak was so tough and stringy that it was not edible. The manager was flip with me when I brought the issue to his attention. The manager was extremely argumentative and charged me for items that the waitress said was included in the meal price. This was, without a doubt, the worst dining experience that I have ever had in my life. I cant believe they are still in business. I will never go back to that skunk hole again.
Monday 1/2 Price Burger Special. A colleague and I decided to have lunch at Biggs Roadhouse at 11:45AM today. What an awful decision. She ordered the Turkey Burger with swiss cheese and I ordered a cheeseburger with american. Imagine my disgust when I noticed (after already eating a small portion of my burger) what appeared to be mold present on her bun. I quickly brought it to her attention and begun to examine my own bun. It became apparent that both of our buns were molded. We quickly asked for a manager and was appalled when his reaction appeared quite non-chalant and he responded by saying "yes it is our fault, is there something else we can make for you?". There was no sense of shock from him and even worse he made no attempt to approach the other patrons to ensure that they were not subjected to the same molded buns. We both expressed how we believed it imperative that he discuss the matter with customers present because we would hate to see anyone begin eating as we had prior to noticing. However he made no attempt to approach any of the customers as suggested. Another young lady whom claimed to be a manager approached the table and although she was smart enough to apologize she failed to honor our request of completing an incident report instead merely wrote down the phone number to the establishment, along with the name Louie (no last name provided). I was not only disappointed with the quality, I was disgusted with the way staff failed to take the matter as being of a serious nature nor cause of concern.
