This company is a scam!!!! They intentionally sent me the wrong engine and then became belligerant when I wanted to return it. I say intentional because I asked them twice to visually verify the engine before sending it to me. They claim they did it, but sent the wrong engine anyway.

DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY OR SWENGINES WHICH IS THE OTHER NAME THEY OPERATE UNDER.  View Less

Warning; The review by tyronej552 is a fake. No one in their right mind would order a motor from Engine and Transmission World after reading all the negative reviews and complaints. tyronej552 is associated with EATW; most likely the owner. Believe me, if you give EATW a chance they will lube you up and mount you like a belgium stud; you'll get the screwing of your life. If there is a hell on earth it is Engine and Transmission World; located at 2100 College Ave Suite A in Cudahy, Wi. 53110. Owners: Mark Dobrenko and Allen Simmons. These two crooks have been ripping off people for several decades at the same location; when their business reputation gets around they change the name; previous names: Midwest Auto Recycling, SW Engines and others. One thing you could do though is call their 888 344 8044 number over and over and tell them what jerks they are and/or hang up on them all day long. Other than that STAY AWAT FROM THESE CROOKS !!!

My story; I needed a replacement motor for my son's 2001 Land Rover. Being an idiot I trusted them and bought what they said was a beautiful, clean low mile fully test and ready to install used motor. When it arrived it did look good from the outside; it was wrapped in plastic and it looked clean so I accepted the delivery(big mistake). When I unwrapped I found that they had just sprayed silver paint over all the dirt and grease to make it look like a clean aluminum block. It got worse after that; when I pulled off the valve covers I about threw up; the whole valve train was caked with solidified sludge and dirt; totally disgusting and this motor could have never been tested as they claimed. I pulled the heads and all the cylinder were rusted and filled with transmission fluid in a lame attempt cover up the rust; the motor had also been submerged in water as the crank was also rusted. A total basket case. When I complained Dale at the customer service desk said "oh just put some oil in it; it will run fine. He said if I didn't like that I would have to pay to ship it back and also be charged $500 restocking fee. I fought it with VISA but lost; I still don't understand that one. Anyway, if I ever catch up with these bastards they're gonna wish.... well I can't say the rest for legal reasons, but they will be sorry. Well, I hope you are smart enough to take a hint; Engine and Transmission World is bad news. BTW; they are under investigation by the Wi. USDOJ consumer complaints and tax fraud divisions; so I am hoping they will be in prison some day. BASTARDS !!!  View Less

I almost didn't buy from this company after reading some of these. After talking with them, and working out a deal, I opted to give them a shot. My engine arrived within a week and a half, and looked brand new. Now my car runs like new too. Give these guys a chance, I'm glad I did!  View Less View More

DON'T JUST WALK AWAY...RUN!!!!. I have never seen a company treat people so poorly. I'm convinced they are scamming us out of our $$$. We purchased a part for $1395, but the company said it was declined. According to our bank, they attempted the transaction twice. The first transaction was approved but the second was declined (who can afford to pay that kind of money twice?) Meanwhile, the company is trying to sell the part while we get this figured out. Allen, (the owner?) told me that I'll be embarrassed in the morning when the bank releases the funds and that if we had our banking affairs in order we would not be having this issue. Please share this with everyone - people need to be warned.  View Less View More
