Fast Service, but not always there when you need them!. I live nearby, so this my local neighborhood tire repair shop. They will fix your flat fast, that is no doubt. BUT, I have called twice on my lunch to make sure I could bring my car over after work (before 4pm) and both times they have said no. After being told this a second time, I asked him, "aren't you open until 5pm?" The man on the phone said yes, but the one guy that would be there in the afternoon doesn't do tires. He told me to bring it in the morning or on a Saturday. So, that is what I've had to do. They will fix a tire in less than an hour, but not necessarily when it's convenient for you.
Not honest on charges. Our family has in the past had good service for flat tires from this mechanic. And this time the service was good. But when I dropped off the flat tire the mechanic asked me if i wanted to just pick it up again or have him put it on the car. I asked him what it would cost me if he did it. He said $5. I said great, you can do it if that is all it will cost me. It turns out he failed to tell me he would also charge me $5 to take the spare off the car. So really having him handle it was $10, not $5. If I knew that I would have done it myself for sure. When I stopped in to discuss this with him a few days later he was not really willing to talk about it. I got upset. The shop was loud and dark and he accused me of yelling at him. I did eventually raise my voice as he just kept pointing at my bill and saying the explanation of the charge was there and I kept telling him what he had quoted me. What I cared about was his honesty. I asked about a manager and that really annoyed him. He tried calling the manager but said there was no answer. At one point he even said he might call the police because he felt I was threatening. How could he feel that about a smallish older woman? Perhaps the problem was he knew he had not been completely honest with me. Whether or not that was intentional or a mistake on his part I will never know. So bottom line, their flat tire fixing is fine, but ask for a written estimate of all the charges if that is important to you.
