Food was ok but bland! – My husband took me out to eat here on a Thursday night. The place looked hip and and quite a few customers. The ambiance was great.
The staff were all well dressed in all black. Even some guy in a suite halfway though our meal asked us how everything was, but he never introduced himself. They were attentive except at the end when we needed to pay our bill.
We were seated per our request on the patio, it was nice, but right on Bluemound road with cars roaring by. As a considerations they should've put the patio on the side or back of the building if possible.
We received chips and salsa right away, but the salsa had no flavor but lime to it. Very bland. I asked the waiter if they had a spicier one to try and he said he could bring us habanero sauce to mix in. . .
I ordered the steak enchiladas with mole sauce. I noticed another review said there was no mole, they were right, it was a bunch of cheese and brushed on mole. The beans were pretty bland (black beans). The rice was good however. Overall my enchiladas were sub-standard at that. My husband had steak tacos and he said they were okay. He also didn't like the salsa.
We ordered plantains foster for dessert because we wanted to try them and also the menu said tableside mon-thur only. As we looked forward to them for almost 15 minutes the waiter just brought out the dessert. We were horrible let down. Table side means prepared tableside. Why is it on the menu that way then? They were alright. The best part was the sauce on the ice cream, the plantains weren't the best.
Nice pre-drink spot, but for the food go somewhere else.
Their menu and atmosphere really got my hopes up. The food didn't stand up to what I was seeing.
