The Harbor House, renovated inside. The Harbor House, renovated inside so that it looks very similar to Lake Park Bistro, is wonderful! My husband just recently took me there for my birthday and we had an amazing experience.

Our waitress Caitlyn deserves praise. I had the Nautical martini, which was refreshingly outstanding and she recommended the perfect glass of wine for my husband to compliment his entree. I highly recommend the beet/goat cheese salad which has little chopped apricots in it. By our surprise the restaurant, since we had waited a little to get a window table overlooking Lake Michigan, gave us complimentary crab cakes (the best crab cakes I've ever had, not as fishy tasting as some, and I've had crab cakes at some of the best restaurants along the east and west coasts).

Next our entree was served, and at first I noticed my 'medium' filet looked more 'well done', but I usually don't and wouldn't have said anything. However, our waitress Caitlyn came to the table a couple seconds later and said, 'How is everything...and your meat does not look medium, that to me is well done.â?? She then immediately had the chef make me a perfectly done 'medium filet' and made sure the rest of our meal was to a tee perfection. I kept saying to my husband, how wonderful and fast she reacted to the situation and that her type of service is exceptional given I didn't even mention it to her.



She and the management staff truly cares about how their restaurant is perceived and will go above and beyond to make sure you have a pleasurable experience. I urge anyone who's thinking about going to go and no matter what, you will have excellent service and outstanding food! Thank you Caitlyn and Harbor House for making my birthday a special one ;)
