The Best Pizza on the Planet Earth by Stephanie M. at InsiderPages

Zaffiro's Pizza is the best pizza I have ever had. All of their entrees are delicious and the thin crust pizza is out of this world. Family friendly and reasonably priced! A great place to take visitors.
Best pizza in town
by mke reviewer at Citysearch
I love Zaffiro's...it has a great "dive" atmosphere that captures the nostalgia of old-school pizza joints. They make the thinnest crust pizza in town and it is perfectly spiced--I like a simple pizza like cheese & onion which is perfection at Zaffiro's. Their pasta is also good and comes in portions that are worth about three meals. Their red sauce is extremely thick and a little on the sweet side--I love it. Of all the Italian restaurants where I have tried lasagna, theirs is the best--heavy on the beef and sauce and light on the ricotta.
- Pros: Consistent, great food, huge portions, cheap
- Cons: not enough servers during busy hours, sodas not chilled

Thin Crust Rules !!!
by Kacehe at Citysearch
Being born and raised in Milwaukee, I didn't really appreciate thin crust pizza until I lived in St. Louis, Los Angeles and now Seattle. Some of their pizzas are OK, but nothing like that Zaffiro crust! Dad and I are making another trip "home" this fall and Zaffiro's is one of the first stops! I would love to know how their perch fish fry is on Friday, but I know I couldn't get past the pizza.
Got a kick out of the sink in the bar between the two restrooms. At least everyone knows you washed your hands!
- Pros: Great pizza at a neighborhood place
- Cons: City parking
Eccellente!
by ttjjames at Citysearch
I love this place, I would reccomend calling for reservations if they take them or ordering your pizza for pickup because if you go there on a Thursday or the weekend the wait is about an hour and the bar area is small so you are waiting in the bar with everyone else who is waiting for a table gets kind of crowded. ALSO if you are going for nice table linens and art on the wall this is not the place to be, very basic and thats fine because the pizza speaks volumes BEST PIZZA IN TOWN.
- Pros: Great pizza and garlic bread
- Cons: Small
Overrated. I can't see what the fuss is all about...

Based on the reviews here, I couldn't wait to get to this place. I was in Milwaukee for a week, and wanted to see the city's best. This can't be it. The pizza everyone raves about is some of the worst I've ever had. The crust tasted like a stale cracker. Absolutely a let down considering the accolades it's getting. I've had better pizza from the freezer case of a supermarket. What really ticked me off was that we were charged for soda refills. The glasses are small to begin with, and cost $1.60 apiece. Our waitress brought us refills (when she finally found the time to wait on us), not letting us know that refills aren't free, as is common in many places. When I got the bill, I was charged $9.60 for soda! I hate paying ten dollars for sodas for three people. The place is tiny, and loud. The rest of the food was average--nothing will dazzle you. Like the pizza, the food is standard overcooked Italian-American. There is some atmosphere, if you like the sparse "decor" of 1950's Italian immigrant house-turned restaurant theme. It's almost a dive bar with a room on the side where they serve food. The place has not improved since then, and neither has the pizza, I imagine. The waitresses haunt the place like jaded ghosts; totally uninterested, jaded, wishing they were somewhere else, secretly wondering what everyone sees in their fabled pizza. The place is loud, but if you could get there on a slow night, the experience would at least be that much better. The overcooked spaghetti had a very sweet red sauce that I thought was good, but since the pizza was inedible, I had to eat something. The lasagna was decent. I think that overall, the place is highly overrated, and frankly, a bit expensive for what you get. I was told later by a local that there's better pizza in town. Good luck!
- Cons: bad pizza, soda refills not free, jades service
Mean People!
by krisstone at Citysearch
You'd think calling up to place an order would not be like asking someone for the worst favor on earth. Get some better people to deal with your customers or soon you'll have none.
Will be going to Pizza Man tonight which has a better rating and much nicer people.
In the never-ending search for Milwaukee's best pizza, this restaurant is a strong contender with its thin-crusted beauties.

In Short
Built in 1956, this small eastside tavern's tiny dining room features red-and-white checkered tablecloths and Dean Martin on the stereo. The menu features a few sandwiches and pastas, but people come here for a slice or two of pizza with wafer-thin crust. The Everything but Anchovies pizza is the restaurant's most popular pie and comes loaded. The house wine is decanted from jugs and served in clear recycled soda bottles, adding to the cozy, homemade ambience.

Mu aunt took me here while I was home on leave from the army, and the food was great. Went back there within 1 week, right before I left for Germany, the pizza is great and that waffer thin crust is outstanding. This will be the first place we will eat when we get back to Milwaukee. Hey folks keep up the outstanding work. The service was also great.
- Pros: parking is good, drinks are good , prices are good
- Cons: smoking
Great local pizza

I used to live on the corner of Kane and Prospect. My wife and I would walk over the Zaffiro's and enjoy some pizza by ourselves or with friends. It is the place we often wish we could walk to again. One of those wondering little spots you grow to love that feel completely your own.
- Pros: quaint, best pizza
- Cons: , busy
Best Pizza

This is a family favorite, and I was fortunate enough to have finally dined there recently on a trip from California. The best pizza I've ever had! The service was great - they knew everyone in there! This is a must if you're in Milwaukee.
