Small town place. The new building is impressive -- although it seems to have added precious little exhibit space. As an out-of-towner, I found that finding the entrance (on a bitter cold day) was near impossible -- what looks like the "old" entrance in the older building was locked, forcing us to guess at an entrance under the "wings". The collection would be more impressive if better organized -- this is the first museum in which I've ever felt truly lost -- and therefore discouraged. The signage is just plain awful -- and just try to find a restroom. Maybe if the designers had spent a little less time on the dramatic, and a bit more on function, this would be a truly wonderful place.

Claude Monet, Andy Warhol, Rene von Schleinitz: This impressive collection spans eras and cultures, bringing high art to Brew City.. The Scene
You'll first be hit by the stunning white airplane-like winged roof, which opens and closes at noon each day and when the museum opens and closes everyday). Inside, with more than 20,000 pieces of art, the Milwaukee Art Museum pops eastern Wisconsin with an outstanding culture punch. Whatever your favorite flavor--Renaissance triptychs, Victorian landscapes, American folk art--you'll find something to marvel at in this sprawling complex of galleries.

The Collection
Frank Lloyd Wright furniture, Edward Weston photographs and American folk art are museum highlights. Don't miss the museum's dramatic addition, which is the first building in the United States designed by Spanish architect and sculptor Santiago Clatrava. A frequently changing schedule of lectures, workshops and concerts keeps the museum abuzz with artistic inspiration.

A Not So Hidden Gem Anymore!. With The New Buliding - An Architectual Masterpiece! Not only fits perfectly with Lake Michigan, but draws in crowds to an already established and impressive broad art collection, which was hidden from visitors in a plain building. A MUST SEE!

Breathtaking Building and Views. Walking down the long hall to the beginning of the art was beathtaking. And the view from the cafe downstairs was beautiful. This is a must see for everyone in Milwaukee. Very Impressive.
